The Team Supercrew capes are more than just for dress up. They’re tools for learning bravery, kindness, calmness, and grit while having fun!
Here are some exciting and engaging ways to incorporate the capes into everyday activities with your child.

Cape Activities
Cape Superhero Day
Turn your child into a superhero for the day! Let them choose a cape to wear and become the Brave, Kind, Calm, or Grit Superhero.
Encourage your child to embody their chosen superhero’s traits throughout the day. For example:
- Brave: Trying something new.
- Kind: Helping a sibling with their homework.
- Calm: Taking deep breaths during a moment of frustration.
- Grit: Sticking with a tough puzzle until it’s finished.
Have your child create a comic book-style “report” by drawing or writing about their actions.
Use this opportunity to notice and praise their efforts in being brave, kind, calm, or having grit.

Outdoor Superhero Adventures
Take the capes outside for a fun, imaginative play session where your child explores different emotional states.
Assign each superhero a specific outdoor activity:
- Brave: Jumping over a rock.
- Kind: Making a flower bracelet for a friend.
- Calm: Reading a book under a tree.
- Grit: Digging a hole for a new plant.
Check in with your child after each activity to see how they feel, then switch to the next superhero cape.
Use this concept in different settings:
- What books would each superhero like?
- How would they play with blocks or toys?
- What would their favorite bath-time activities be?

Super Powers with Super Breathing
Activate your child’s imagination and teach emotional regulation with “Super Breathing.”
- Pick a superpower like invisibility and let your child know it’s activated by taking a deep breath in through their nose and out through their mouth.
- Pretend they turn invisible with one breath and reappear with another!
- Use this game for fun activities like Marco Polo, or swap the breath for other calming exercises.
This is a great way to practice deep breathing as a calm-down strategy in a playful, engaging way.

Plush Toys as Citizens
Bring your child’s pretend superhero world to life with their Team Supercrew plush toys!
Assign the plush toys roles as citizens in need of rescue. Match their cape to the situation:
- Brave Cape: Rescuing Benny from a high tree.
- Kind Cape: Helping Keisha clean up the neighborhood after a windy day.
- Calm Cape: Comforting Chloe after a pretend fall.
- Grit Cape: Encouraging Gen on a long pretend journey.
Encourage your child to act out different solutions, building problem-solving and empathy skills through play.

Cape Sharing Circle
Use the capes during family sharing time to reflect on everyone’s day.
Pass the capes around. When it’s someone’s turn, they wear the cape and share something they did that matches its trait:
- Kind Cape: Share a kind action they took.
- Brave Cape: Talk about a moment they were brave.
Rotate through all the capes or focus on just one.
This activity fosters positive family bonding and encourages your child to reflect on their actions and emotions.
Superhero Freeze Dance
Turn emotional regulation into a fun game with superhero freeze dance!
- Play music and have your child “fly” around in their cape.
- When the music stops, call out a feeling (like “Excited!”) and have everyone act it out.
- Mix it up by calling out calm-down strategies (like “Deep breaths!”) instead of emotions.
This game helps your child practice recognizing and managing their emotions in a playful setting.
Why It Works
These activities are not only fun but also help your child build emotional awareness, social skills, and resilience. With every play session, they’ll gain tools to handle life’s ups and downs, and you’ll share some unforgettable bonding moments along the way!
Let the adventures begin with Team Supercrew!
