How Team Supercrew Works with the Pyramid Model and CASEL

CASEL tells us which social emotional skills we want to see, the Pyramid Model sets the level of support each child needs, and Team Supercrew provides the activities that bring both to life. Team Supercrew does more than align with these frameworks. We provide specific actions, activities, and discussions that teachers can use in the classroom, and home visitors can use during a visit.

How We Align with Each Pyramid Model Tier

  • Effective Workforce: Meets teachers where they are with detailed lesson plans in the Educator Guide, plus flexible integration models such as SEL in daily routines and learning centers. The Home Visitor Guide offers open-ended suggestions like modeling and praise, and concrete tools like a list of reflective questions to ask families.
  • Universal Promotion: All children can engage and benefit, through the frameworks in the Educator Guide and skills like Brave, Kind, Calm, and Grit. Activities are play-based and developmentally appropriate, with clear, simple instructions for weaving everyday social emotional learning into the classroom or a home visit.
  • Targeted Social Emotional Supports: This is where Team Supercrew thrives, because it is what it was created for. The skill building framework in the Educator Guide, along with the Feelings Chart and Calm Down Chart, centers on positive, fun social emotional learning for children who need extra support.
  • Intensive Intervention: Additional resources help providers and families learn more about social emotional development. Our role at this tier is limited, but the materials can help reinforce skills children are learning through their individualized supports.

Three Models That Work Together

Team Supercrew is designed to work alongside CASEL and the Pyramid Model, so classrooms have a plan for the whole group and for a specific child.

  • CASEL: tells us which SEL skills we want to see.
  • The Pyramid Model: sets the level of support, from low to high, based on a specific child's needs.
  • Team Supercrew: provides the prevention activities that bring both to life. The Educator Guide promotes SEL in large group settings and for targeted children through the skill building framework.

Team Supercrew Classroom Regulation Sets are designed for children ages 3 to 8, and our Home Visiting Kits for children ages 2 to 6.
