How Team Supercrew Works with Your Classroom Curriculum
Most classrooms already use an SEL curriculum, an assessment platform, or both. Team Supercrew is designed to fit alongside the tools you already have, adding a story and character-driven layer to emotional learning, or standing on its own when that is what your classroom needs.
SEL and Early Childhood Curricula
Second Step
Second Step includes books and puppets and is centered on formal, teacher-led lessons. Team Supercrew offers formal lessons too, and adds an integration model that weaves SEL into learning centers and everyday classroom moments, not just large and small group instruction. Programs use Team Supercrew alongside Second Step or as a standalone emotional learning approach, depending on the needs of the classroom.
Creative Curriculum
Creative Curriculum is comprehensive, play-based, and organized around broad developmental domains. Team Supercrew fits as a supplemental layer inside its Social-Emotional domain, adding a character-driven story and play approach that brings those goals to life for young children.
Zones of Regulation
Zones of Regulation teaches self-regulation through a color-coded system. Team Supercrew takes a different entry point, story and character-based rather than color-coded, and the two work well together. Teachers can use our stories and Feelings Chart to bring Zones vocabulary to life through characters children already connect with, rather than replacing one system with the other.
HighScope
HighScope is built around active, participatory learning and the plan-do-review process. Team Supercrew's play-based approach aligns naturally with that philosophy, and our story and character framework gives children something concrete to revisit and reflect on during review time.
Sanford Harmony
Sanford Harmony builds peer relationships through structured daily activities like Buddy Up and Meet Up. Team Supercrew focuses on individual emotional regulation and self-awareness, so the two run side by side without overlap: Harmony for peer connection, Team Supercrew for the inner emotional skills that support it.
Assessment and Documentation
TeachSmart
Team Supercrew fits well with the TeachSmart platform. The Teacher Reflection sections in our Educator Guide help guide observations and assessment notes, and our lesson plans include portfolio-ready handouts that can easily be added to assessment platforms. The Educator Guide also includes family engagement resources that build stronger school-to-home connections and support emotional learning outside the classroom.
